Spring Semester A
Children will be surprised that God spares Isaac’s life with a substitute sacrifice. They will see Jacob’s family grow, a visible sign that Abraham and Sarah’s descendants multiply. God’s providence shapes Joseph’s life as a slave, prisoner, and later the revealer of Pharaoh’s dreams. Then God saves baby Moses and later calls him to show the Egyptians that there is only One True God.
Children are introduced to the Passover, revealing that salvation is substitutionary. Finally, the Israelites celebrate their freedom at their Red Sea crossing and hear God’s Ten Best Ways to Live. Symbols of a baby, the stars of the sky, the sands of the sea, and the world reoccur, reinforcing God’s covenant promises.
